BRSV Coordinator Advocate Mir Qurram Ali Demands Urgent Action for Student Rights Amidst Unresolved Issues

Hyderabad

As Telangana's final-year exams approach, students are facing mounting challenges due to the government's failure to release fee reimbursement and scholarship funds. Private college managements are refusing to accept exam fees from students, leading to a situation where students are being denied access to their studies and exams altogether.Advocate Mir Qurram Ali, the Coordinator of the BRSV (Bharatiya Rashtra Students' Union), has condemned the government’s negligence and the poor response from the District Education and Inspection Officer (DEIO) in Hyderabad. According to Ali, students have been visiting the DEIO office repeatedly, filing complaints against private college managements, yet no action has been taken.
Students are being forced into a position where they are unable to continue their education due to the non-payment of fees, despite being eligible for the scholarship and fee reimbursement scheme," Ali stated. "It is the responsibility of the DEIO to inspect these colleges and ensure that students are treated fairly. However, the Hyderabad DEIO has been consistently unresponsive, leaving students vulnerable and helpless."
Adding to the concerns, Ali highlighted that many private colleges in Hyderabad are operating illegally. Without proper registration, qualified teachers, or adequate facilities, these institutions continue to exploit students' futures. He noted issues such as lack of playgrounds and infrastructure, as well as traffic hazards near these colleges, yet authorities have failed to address these glaring deficiencies.
Dozens of illegal colleges are functioning unchecked in Hyderabad. They are running without the necessary legal documentation and are not being held accountable for their actions. The authorities need to intervene immediately," Ali urged.
In a heartfelt plea to the Chief Minister of Telangana, K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), and the concerned authorities, Advocate Mir Qurram Ali called for an immediate intervention to resolve these issues. He urged the CM to take strong action against the corrupt and inefficient officials, and to ensure that the rights of students are protected.
"Students' futures are at stake. If the government continues to turn a blind eye to their problems, it will be a grave injustice. The CM must step in and ensure that all District Education Officers (DEOs) and District Education and Inspection Officers (DIEOs) are replaced with those who are committed to the welfare of students," Ali concluded.
The students of Hyderabad are watching closely, hoping for a quick resolution to these critical issues. The time for action is now, before the final exams are jeopardized and the educational dreams of many are shattered.
