Hyderabad Schools to Remain Closed on February 26 for Maha Shivaratri

Schools in Hyderabad and other districts of Telangana will observe a holiday next week for the Maha Shivaratri festival. As it is a general holiday, all schools across the state will remain closed.

Holiday on February 26
According to the Telangana State calendar, Maha Shivaratri falls on Wednesday, February 26. In preparation for the break, some schools have already begun conducting pre-final exams.

About Maha Shivaratri
Maha Shivaratri is a Hindu festival dedicated to Lord Shiva, observed annually in the Hindu calendar month of Phalguna (typically in February or March). Devotees mark the occasion with a full-day fast, consuming only fruits, milk, and water. Many also stay awake through the night, chanting Shiva mantras.

In light of the festival, schools in Hyderabad will remain closed on February 26.
