All-Party Delegations Apprise UAE, Japan of Operation Sindoor and Pakistan-Sponsored Terrorism

India has launched a significant global outreach campaign to garner international support against terrorism emanating from Pakistan, following the success of Operation Sindoor. As part of this initiative, multi-party parliamentary delegations have been dispatched to various world capitals, with two key delegations currently visiting Japan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The UAE became the first stop in this diplomatic campaign, where a delegation led by Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde met Ahmed Mir Khoori, a member of the UAE Federal National Council in Abu Dhabi. During the meeting, the Indian side conveyed the country’s firm commitment to countering state-sponsored terrorism originating from Pakistani soil.

“We proudly shared India’s decisive success with ‘Operation Sindoor’ and highlighted the ongoing threats from cross-border terrorism,” said Shinde in a post on social media platform X. He emphasized India’s stand for global security and peace.

The delegation to the UAE includes:

  • Manan Kumar Mishra (BJP)

  • Sasmit Patra (BJD)

  • E.T. Mohammed Basheer (IUML)

  • S.S. Ahluwalia (BJP)

  • Atul Garg (BJP)

  • Bansuri Swaraj (BJP)

  • Former diplomat Sujan R. Chinoy

  • India’s Ambassador to the UAE, Sunjay Sudhir

Meanwhile, in Japan, a delegation led by JD(U) MP Sanjay Jha was welcomed in Tokyo by Ambassador Sibi George. The delegation aims to present India's strong position against cross-border terrorism in light of Operation Sindoor.

Members of the Japan delegation include:

  • Aparajita Sarangi (BJP)

  • Brijlal (BJP)

  • Pradhan Barua (BJP)

  • Hemang Joshi (BJP)

  • Salman Khurshid (Congress)

  • Abhishek Banerjee (TMC)

  • John Brittas (CPI-M)

  • Former Ambassador Mohan Kumar

The Indian Embassy in Japan confirmed that all engagements will focus on showcasing India’s firm response to terrorism and reinforcing international cooperation. In total, India is deploying seven multi-party delegations to 33 global capitals to expose Pakistan’s role in supporting terrorism and to underline India's right to self-defence.

This outreach comes in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 lives. India launched precision strikes on terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) in the early hours of May 7. In retaliation, Pakistan attempted attacks on Indian military bases from May 8 to May 10, which were effectively countered by Indian forces.

Tensions de-escalated after a mutual understanding was reached in DGMO-level talks on May 10, ending the immediate hostilities on the ground.
