India, Germany Join Forces for Green Hydrogen Exports

Rotterdam:Juno Joule Green Energy Pvt Ltd, a leading Indian renewable energy firm, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with German clean energy giant Select Energy GmbH at the World Hydrogen Summit 2025. The agreement aims to co-develop a world-class green hydrogen and ammonia export facility at Mulapeta Port, Andhra Pradesh.

The partnership underscores a major Indo-German collaboration, focusing on green fuel exports to Europe, Japan, and South Korea. The $1.3 billion project, to be developed in three phases, is expected to produce 180 KTPA of green hydrogen by 2029, converted into one million tons of green ammonia annually. Construction will begin in 2026, integrating advanced desalination, electrolysis, and port-connected logistics for global competitiveness.

Key figures at the MoU signing included Juno Joule CEO Nagasharath Rayapati, Select Energy GmbH Managing Director Felix Danger, and Indian dignitaries such as MNRE Secretary Shri Santosh Kumar Sarangi and National Green Hydrogen Mission DG Shri Abhay Bakre. German Hydrogen Association President Ms. Silke Frank emphasized the partnership’s global impact.

The project will generate 5,000–6,000 direct and indirect jobs, boost local economies in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, and align with India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission. It will also contribute to global climate goals, reducing CO₂ emissions by over 1.8 million tons annually.

“This collaboration reinforces our execution capability and accelerates the global transition to a low-carbon economy,” said Rayapati.

Juno Joule’s export-focused approach and partnerships position India as a green hydrogen leader, addressing certification, logistics, and global integration challenges. The project highlights India’s commitment to clean energy exports and sustainable industrialization.
