LPU Announces 100% Scholarship for Armed Forces Personnel

Hyderabad:Lovely Professional University (LPU) has unveiled the 'Jai Jawan Scholarship,' a groundbreaking initiative providing a 100% tuition fee waiver for India's 22 lakh active defence and paramilitary personnel enrolling in its online undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

Announced in New Delhi by Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal, Founder Chancellor of LPU and Rajya Sabha member, the scholarship reflects the nation’s gratitude towards its armed forces. It covers personnel from the Army, Navy, Air Force, CRPF, ITBP, BSF, and SSB, making it the world's largest private scholarship scheme in education, according to an official release.

Dr. Mittal emphasized the scheme's significance following the success of Operation Sindoor, which showcased the extraordinary bravery of the forces in countering the Pahalgam civilian massacre. "No salute can truly encapsulate the sacrifices of our Armed Forces. This scholarship is a concrete expression of respect and solidarity. True homage must translate into actionable support," he stated.

The scholarship will be available for the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 academic sessions, including both July and January intakes. Eligible personnel can pursue higher education without financial burden, underlining LPU’s commitment to educational inclusion.

This initiative highlights the pivotal role of education in acknowledging the dedication of India's armed forces and stands as a testament to LPU's mission to support national heroes through meaningful action.
