CM KCR to meet Union Jal Shakti Minister on Saturday

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao reached New Delhi on Friday on a three-day visit, after attending the first day’s proceedings of the State Legislative Assembly and the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting. This is his second visit to Delhi in less than a month, after the nine-day visit from September 1, when he called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several Union Ministers to take up issues pertaining to the State.With Modi on a visit to the US, the Chief Minister is scheduled to meet Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Saturday. He will pursue pending issues pertaining to the State especially concerns of the State government over certain provisions in the gazette notification bringing all irrigation projects in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh under the purview of the river management boards.On Sunday, Chandrashekhar Rao will attend a meeting convened at Vignan Bhavan by Union Home Minister Amit Shah with the Chief Ministers of 10 States that are affected by Left-Wing Extremism (LWE). He will also discuss the issue pertaining to paddy procurement with Union Food and Civil Supplies Minister Piyush Goyal. He is likely to reiterate Telangana government’s demand to direct the Food Corporation of India to procure boiled rice from the State failing which the State and its farmers could suffer huge losses. He will return to Hyderabad the same evening.
