First phase of Pak's KP poll beginsTitle
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Dec 19 (UNI) The first phase of local government elections in 17 districts of Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province began on Sunday.
The election began at 8 am and will last till 5 pm.
According to a report by ARY News, in the first phase of polls, elections are being held in Peshawar and 16 other districts of the province on Sunday.
The 16 districts include Peshawar, Nowshera, Charsadda, Khyber, Mohmand, Mardan, Swabi, Kohat, Karak, Hangu, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, DI Khan, Tank, Haripur, Bajaur.
The second phase polls in the other part of the province will be held in January.
Around 9,223 polling stations and 28,892 polling booths have been set up, out of which 4,188 polling stations have been declared sensitive and 2,507 most sensitive, ARY News reports.The Election Commission of Pakistan ECP) has set up a control room in its Peshawaroffice to receive polling day complaints.
