Telangana Congress Minority Chairman Shaikh Abdullah Sohail Resigns from party
Senior Congress Leader Resigns Citing Discontent Over Ticket Distribution and Party Dynamics Shift in Telangana
Shaikh Abdullah Sohail, the Chairman of the Minority Department in the Congress party of Telangana, tendered his resignation. He addressed his resignation letter to the party's president, Mallikarjun Kharge. In his detailed three-page resignation letter, Shaikh Abdullah Sohail expressed his decision to step down after dedicating 35 years to the Congress. He noted that throughout his longstanding association with the party, he had worked alongside several PCC presidents. However, he pointed out a significant shift in the party dynamics since Revanth Reddy assumed the role of PCC president. Sohail underscored that this change had generated discontent within various segments of the party, especially among senior leaders who felt neglected in the ticket distribution process. He lamented that Revanth Reddy appeared to treat the distribution of tickets as commodities to be traded, resulting in deserving leaders losing their candidacy. As a consequence of these developments, Shaikh Abdullah Sohail made the difficult decision to resign from the party.
