WaveRock, a leading IT SEZ in Hyderabad, proudly orchestrated the 5th edition of WaveRun, a vibrant mini-marathon aimed at fostering inclusivity and sustainability. The event witnessed over 3500 enthusiastic participants converging to promote a message of unity and eco-consciousness. The event was inaugurated by Chief Guest Shri Jayesh Ranjan, IAS, Principal Secretary, I&C and IT, Government of Telangana, who commended the initiative for its efforts in promoting equality and eradicating gender disparities. He highlighted the substantial turnout, with employees and their families actively participating in the 3K, 5K, and 10K categories, emphasizing the event's goal of promoting gender ality across all spheres of life. Col Sanjay Bhardwaj, Senior Director & Head Property Management, reiterated the event's significance, acknowledging WaveRock's longstanding commitment to social causes. This year's focus on gender equality, under the theme 'equality has no gender,' aligns with the SEZ's sustainability ethos. Bhardwaj emphasized the introduction of eco-friendly prizes such as electric scooters and bikes, alongside the installation of an electric charging station at WaveRock, aiming to raise awareness about sustainability for the betterment of future generations. The event not only fostered a sense of community among the employees and employers of esteemed national and multinational corporates within the IT SEZ but also aimed to create an environment of comfort and support. WaveRun served as a platform for participants to share experiences, challenges, and successes, ultimately contributing to the establishment of a comprehensive community within and beyond the workspace.
