Congress Gears Up for Round 2 in Preparation for Lok Sabha Polls.

Hyderabad: The Congress ramped up its preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, with TPCC chief and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy completing his scheduled meetings with ministers who have been delegated as incharges.

On Tuesday, he met ministers incharge of Khammam, Warangal, Karimnagar, Nalgonda, and Rangareddy districts at the MCRHRD institute, a day after he met in charges of undivided Adilabad, Nizamabad, Medak, Mahbubnagar, and Hyderabad.

He said elections strategy meetings will be held with incharges of 17 Lok Sabha constituencies from January 10 to 12.

The Chief Minister also announced a special development grant of Rs 10 crore to each Assembly constituency in the state.

In the meetings on Tuesday, Revanth Reddy discussed election strategies, welfare schemes, and developmental programmes of the newly-formed Congress government, sources said.

The Chief Minister instructed ministers and MLAs to ensure that each needy person got the benefit of their welfare schemes. He said ‘Indiramma committees’ will be appointed soon to monitor the effective implementation of welfare schemes in every gram panchayat, ward, municipal division, and corporation.

Saying that beneficiaries for the welfare scheme would soon be identified, he directed the in charges to appoint honest and sincere officials for implementation, warning of stringent action over corrupt practices.

"Do not bring bad repute to the government by taking anti-people decisions and moves. The government will allocate a special development fund of Rs 10 crore to each constituency. The incharge ministers of the old districts are entrusted with the responsibility of utilisation of the funds," Revanth Reddy said.

He said that the Assembly constituencies should be developed in coordination with the incharge ministers to resolve public issues. "The party and the government should coordinate and address the people’s issues," he said.

Further, on the Lok Sabha polls, he said: "Put all efforts to win maximum number of MP seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The Congress’ target is to win not fewer than 12 MP seats."-
