Hyderabad: Telangana Forest Officials Monitor Indian Bison Spotted in Yadadri Bhongir

The Telangana Forest Department is closely monitoring the movements of an Indian Bison, also known as the Gaur, that was sighted in Atmakur mandal of Yadadri Bhongir district last week.

Initially, locals mistook the massive animal for an oversized ox when it was spotted in the village of Pallerla. However, after being informed, forest officials visited the site and confirmed it to be a Gaur upon closer inspection.

“A team is keeping a regular watch on its movements. For the animal's safety, we cannot disclose its current location. We are unsure of its origin, but it is not the same Gaur that resides in the Amarabad forest division,” a forest official from Yadadri Bhongir stated.
