Hyderabad Hosts Naimisam Earth Festival 2025
A Celebratory Push for Sustainability and Environmental Action in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: The second edition of the Naimisam Earth Festival 2025, organized by the J.Krishnamurti Centre, was held on Sunday at the Engineering Staff College of India (ESCI) in Gachibowli. The event was graced by Telangana’s Minister for Tourism & Culture, Jupally Krishna Rao, and Member of Legislative Assembly Parnika Reddy, along with several other prominent dignitaries, who gathered to support sustainable living and environmental awareness.
The festival, a collaborative effort involving over 60 NGOs, educational institutions, and eco-activists, showcased a variety of sustainable initiatives through displays, presentations, and hands-on activities. The goal was to inspire individuals of all ages to adopt practices that contribute to the planet's preservation.
Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, in his keynote address, emphasized the importance of collective action in tackling environmental challenges. "Sustainability is not just a buzzword; it is a responsibility we all share," said Rao. "This festival serves as a reminder that every step toward sustainability counts, and it is our collective efforts that will create a better future for generations to come."
The event featured intellectual talks by environmental experts such as Prof. Aseem Srivastava and Bharat Mansata, Founder of Vanvadi Forest Collective, who shared their insights on conservation. Young performers also took the stage, presenting skits and songs to highlight the importance of sustainable consumption and eco-friendly choices. Traditional art forms like the Guusadi dance, as well as performances by the Aarabhi Violin Symphony, added cultural flair to the festival.
Stalls at the festival introduced healthy, sustainable living alternatives, while organizations like WWF, Society to Save Rocks, and St. Francis College for Women showcased innovative conservation efforts. Participants had the opportunity to take home sustainability project plans to implement positive changes in their communities.
The event was supported by Millet Bank, Prerna Waldorf School, and Team Retro.
