Hyderabad: Telangana Deputy Chief Minister **Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu** has instructed officials to **implement self-employment schemes worth ₹3,000 crore** for Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) youth **before the end of the current financial year**.

During a **pre-budget meeting at the Secretariat on February 21**, Bhatti reviewed budget proposals from the **SC, ST, BC (Backward Classes), and Minority Welfare departments**.

### **Govt Prioritizes SC, ST Welfare & Employment**
Reaffirming that **public welfare is the government's top priority**, he assured that **sufficient funds would be allocated** to ensure the successful implementation of these schemes. Bhatti criticized **previous governments for failing to execute self-employment initiatives effectively** and emphasized that the Congress government is committed to **reviving these programs**.

He directed officials to **immediately draft implementation plans** and ensure timely execution.

### **Hostel, Education & Central Funds Utilization**
✅ **Hostel & Residential Schools:** Bhatti instructed officials to **clear pending hostel rent and diet charges** promptly.
✅ **Pending Bills:** Advised coordination with the finance department to **settle outstanding payments**.
✅ **Central Scheme Utilization:** Stressed the need for **better utilization certificates** to **expedite fund allocations** from the central government.

The meeting also discussed **providing health insurance for journalists** and exploring **life insurance options** for media professionals.
