BC panel chief calls on KCR

Newly appointed chairman of State Commission for Backward Classes Vakulabharanam Krishna Mohan called on Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao at his residence, Pragati Bhavan on Wednesday.

The Telangana government had constituted a four-member commission after it became non-existent for two years on Monday. Earlier this month, the High Court had directed the State government to form the commission within a period of three weeks and fulfill its obligation under Section 243 of the Constitution.

The government had appointed Ch Upendra, Shubhapradh Patel Nooli, K Kishore Goud as members of the commission. BC welfare department commissioner B Venkateshwam will act as the BC commission’s member secretary.
