Twelve Injured in Bus Accident in Sircilla, Telangana
Hyderabad: Several passengers were injured in a bus accident in Telangana’s Rajanna Sircilla district on Friday, January 31. The incident took place when a Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) bus, traveling from Kamareddy depot to Sircilla, lost control and veered into a field on the outskirts of Gorantala, Gambhiraopet mandal.
The accident occurred when the bus reached a turning point near a village bridge. The driver reportedly lost control after one of the bus’s tires burst, causing the vehicle to crash into agricultural fields. Passersby quickly rushed to the scene and helped rescue the passengers, some of whom sustained injuries.
Sircilla Superintendent of Police Akhil Mahajan stated, “The steering of the bus got locked as the driver made a turn, leading to the vehicle’s fall into the field. Twelve people suffered minor injuries. We are awaiting a petition to proceed with registering a case.”
Authorities suspect that overloading may have contributed to the accident.
