KCR launches Dalit Bandhu to decimate Etela

Hyderabad: Chief Minister and TRS supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday launched an unofficial campaign in Huzurabad assembly constituency by launching the Dalit Bandhu scheme in Shalapally village. The seat fell vacant following the resignation of the former minister and BJP leader Etela Rajender.

The Telangana government would disburse a grant of Rs 10 lakhs to each family belonging to the Scheduled Caste communities in the next two months.  The Telangana government had allocated about 2000 crore to cover about 21,000 families in the Huzurabad constituency identified under the integrated family survey conducted by the TRS government.

Addressing a gathering later, KCR declared that they would allocate Rs 30,000 crore to Rs 40,000 crore in the state budget every year for the next three to four years to cover all the SC families in the state under the scheme.

He scoffed at the reports that suggested that the scheme was launched because of a by-poll. He said the scheme was drawn up last year but due to the pandemic, its launch was delayed.

He sought the support of intellectuals, students, government, and retired staff belonging to the Dalit communities to support the cause and make it a successful scheme in the country.
