Hyderabad Pilgrim Dies in Road Accident on Way to Prayagraj
Hyderabad: A pilgrim from Hyderabad lost his life, and five others were injured in a road accident in Telangana’s Nizamabad district on Thursday, February 13, while traveling to Prayagraj for the Maha Kumbh.
The accident took place on National Highway 44 when their car collided with a truck from behind. According to the police, the crash occurred in Chittapur village as the pilgrims attempted to overtake the truck.
The deceased has been identified as Sampat Rana, while the injured—P. Ramesh, Sai Vishal, Chandrashekhar Chari, V. Srinivas, and Rajinikanth—are all residents of Chintal, Hyderabad.
This incident follows another fatal accident on February 11, in which seven Hyderabad pilgrims returning from the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj died on the spot. Five others were critically injured when their mini-traveler bus collided head-on with a cement-laden lorry in Jabalpur district, Madhya Pradesh.
