Hyderabad: The Union Home Ministry has urged the Telugu-speaking states to work together to resolve the ongoing bifurcation issues between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan held a meeting with officials from both states in Delhi on Monday, February 3.

During the meeting, discussions focused on the issues outlined in Schedule 9 and 10 of the AP Reorganization Act, including the distribution of assets and sharing of liabilities between the two states.

The Home Secretary advised the states to proceed with resolving these matters after consulting legal experts. He assured that the Centre would assist both states in infrastructure development and encouraged them not to escalate concerns over funds allocation, as it could negatively impact both states' growth prospects.

Mohan also indicated that decisions on some issues could be made in the upcoming meeting.
