Telangana: Villagers and Chicken Shop Owner Foil Kidnapping Attempt of Class 8 Girl in Kamareddy

Hyderabad: A Class 8 student narrowly escaped an abduction in Birkur, Kamareddy district, thanks to the quick thinking of a local chicken shop owner and vigilant villagers.

The girl, a student of Borlam Gurukul Girls’ School, was allegedly abducted by her relative, Sanjay Bhargav, who deceived her by falsely claiming that her father was unwell. Bhargav took the girl without permission and set off towards Kamareddy.

However, their journey came to an abrupt halt when the motorcycle ran out of petrol at Mondi Sadak. Bhargav then sought a lift to Mudelli Chowrasta, where he approached a local chicken shop, requesting money for fuel.

The shop owner grew suspicious of Bhargav’s behavior and contacted the girl’s brother. After speaking with him, the owner sensed foul play. Pretending to assist, he asked Bhargav to wait while he discreetly alerted the villagers and the girl’s family.

Acting swiftly, the chicken shop owner, along with other locals, apprehended Bhargav and handed him over to the police. Meanwhile, Bhargav’s family later arrived in Banswada, claiming he suffered from mental health issues.

The girl’s parents expressed immense relief over their daughter's safe return but strongly criticized the social welfare school principal for negligence, questioning how their child was allowed to leave without their knowledge or consent.
